Detoxing after a tiring weekend with some heating can be an absolute bliss with sitting in a steam/sauna room. This brings along many health benefits, like improving circulation, detoxifying the body, and lowering stress – in both wet and dry saunas –  extremely good for the body and boosts your overall wellbeing.

However, there are things you need to look out for – including safety risks and the duration of usage – to keep the sauna routine a safe and healthy practice.

Be sure to always check your sauna time. Due to health risks such as fainting or heat stroke, it’s recommended that you should stay in the sauna no longer than 12 to 20 minutes. After that, exit the sauna right away and let your body cool down for at least 25 minutes before diving into a cold pool or bath. Rest gently in a room temperature place.

Either you can stop here or continue to re-enter the sauna room, however, 12 to 20 minutes is the recommended time for sitting in the sauna room. You can use this as an in-between break but never sit more than the time recommended.
